This is the first time I've bought what I might consider to be a prebuilt keyboard on a little more of the budget side, and I am rather impressed. Right out of the box, the thing is ready to go. Initially I was a little bit iffy on purchasing w/ the Skyloong brand switches, as there was very little talk about them online. In fact, I intended to most likely swap the switches out immediately. I went with the Skyloong Chocolate Rose Switches, though, and am actually very happy with them. They are nice, thunky, tactile switches that end up being very accurate for both typing, as well as gaming. The general build quality, despite being all plastic, is honestly very good. Everything has a nice weight to it, and it honestly feels relatively luxurious. The form factor of these keyboards is also by far one of my favorite I've ever seen, sticking near 100% in a 12 inch form, factor.
My one complaint, though, is the software and drivers. I did purchase an RGB keyboard, meaning if I wanted to control the lighting, I needed the proprietary software. The software is, unfortunately, just not very good. As far as changing key layouts and even applying macros I think it works fine, and is self explanatory enough. But getting lighting to work, especially with 0 actual documentation or help, was a bit of a nightmare. Setting up your own lighting effects is even worse. After many attempts, studying the multitude of examples they provide, I still don't have the slightest idea on how to actually make these effects work. On top of that, despite the software launching on boot, you still need to open your task drawer and open the software window proper to get your lighting to come back on after a reboot. And since the keyboard does not integrate into any other lighting solution at all, I ended up just selecting solid white, and decided I might revisit the software in the future. It is a shame because it is possibly the only blemish on this otherwise amazing product. If you forgo the RGB variant, you can honestly just use the keyboard just fine without the software, even the knob works, as long as you do not want to change any layout settings or the knob function, and I might actually suggest that. I know they have at least a couple, but if there was a drive to make all of their RGB keyboards QMK, it might make the entire ecosystem at least slightly better. At the absolute minimum it allows for more services to potentially use/sync it, and has a lot of documentation and help online, something the skyloong software lacks.
I can add and remove knobs from my keyboard at will and that gives me flexibility with workloads and it adapts to the way I work rather than me adapting to my hardware.
Asked to write a review but never got the keyboard. I check the mail everyday when the mail person gets here so I know it wasn’t stolen from my box
The sound of the caps, the lack of stabilizer sound due to the proper setup/lube, the feel of the keyboard case, responsiveness, and every other little detail down to the feel of the homing keys makes this keyboard feel much more premium than the price would suggest. The shipping was pretty fast (around 1 week) and I live in downtown Montreal. I would very much buy this again or gift one to a fellow keyboard enjoyer.
I purchased this to go with my GK75 keyboard. The wrist rest is slightly longer than the keyboard itself but is at the right height to assist with typing.
I knocked off a star, as the wrist rest is very lightweight (more like pine with walnut colour varnish) and scratches rather easily.
I purchased additional plates from Skyloong to try on my GK75 keyboard, which came with the standard steel plate. Both plates came packaged in their own box with installed stabilisers + split space bar module. Personally, I prefer the sound and feel of the PC plate, which allows for easier changing of switches. My fingers were in pain after installing switches on the tight FR4 plate and the sound profile is not worth the pain to me.
I just wish Skyloong increased their GK75 keyboard range, which is an increasingly popular keyboard layout.
its great, it sounds very nice very creamy with the yellow switches. i truly love it. i recommend the blue light instead of rbg. like the keyboard is literally blue its so so much cuter. also i wish the extra keycaps had more pink but thats just a personal preference. also the delivery was much faster than anticipated.
im already planning on buying from skyloong again and im really excited to do so 🤗
nice keyboard. It is a keyboard with groundbreaking features. Up to 6 knobs can be additionally installed, and the long space bar can be divided into 3 to use the desired function.
Keyboard out of then box sounds heavenly. Has some great heft even with the plastic build. Battery life is decent. Charge time is fast. 10/19
Omg I'm OBSESSED with this keyboard!
Good weight to it
Amazing sound (chocolate lemon switches)
Rgb is so gorgeous
Everything about it is amazing quality and the price was even better!!!
Teclado excelente a digitação nele é muito agradável, comprei com os switches marrons e resolveu o problema que eu tinha com meu teclado antigo que era no tamanho 100% além de ser muito bom digitar nele por várias horas
I bought the aluminum drum kit and had originally gotten a fiberglass plate. But decided later I wanted the PC plate. The plate that came didn't match the screw holes the same but I didn't mind, except the space bar section would only line up one screw.
For the time being, the keyboard has not yet arrived for me to test, but apart from the delay of the carrier, I believe that I will love the keyboard based on the reviews I saw on youtube.
If you like keycap sets that are full of interesting novelties and art then you may want to consider these. The quality is pretty nice, I only wish the set included more spacebars for different layouts since it only has one. Overall though, it's a really good set and has a cool spooky/dark vibe to it. They look amazing on my keyboard and I'm very happy with them. They work best with a keyboard that has RGB since the bottom part of the keycaps are a smokey transparent color. I currently have them on my LeleLab Y2K 76.
